Maxis had a very weak showing at the Expo; probably attributable to the fact they have not released a single Mac game in a more than a few years. Nestled in the far back right hand side of the show floor, on one side of a kiosk with the computer monitor facing the back curtain, Maxis was running SimCity 3000. The game seemed to be running flawlessly. Though we have heard reports over the past week that Maxis did little to make the game "feel" like a Mac game.
We stopped by the kiosk on the last day of the Expo, since we had just discovered its poorly publicized existence. If you have ever been to the SimCity website, then you are aware of the simulation's splendid graphics. We talked briefly with the man who was showing the game. Basically, he said precious little about the game that is not already posted on the game's website. [Price]
SimCity 3000 currently can be ordered online through EA's electronic store. For more on SimCity go to: http://www.simcity.com |
