Gathering of Developers made its second Macworld showing (San Francisco was its first ever), this time renting a booth considerably larger than its previous venture in SF. Jeff Smith of Terminal Reality was on-hand at the booth showing the critically acclaimed "Fly!" on a G3 with Rage128 Acceleration. Smith was quick to note that the current Rage 128 drivers were still in beta and while the final candidates were ready to be distributed, Smith was not allowed to show them in use due to a quarrantine from Apple. As a result, the frame rate was somewhat choppy, and in some cases, slowed to almost one frame a second. This editor has seen the game in action with the most recent drivers as well as on 3Dfx hardware and can attest to the fact that the game is a pure gem. Never before have we seen such splendor incorporated with true-to-life physics in a flight simulator. We've come a long way from the Chuck Yeager Advanced Flight Trainer, folks.

G.O.D. Games was also showing the recently released Railroad Tycoon II which has garnered rave reviews, including one from MacReactor. Railroad Tycoon II: The Second Century (an add-on pack) recently went Gold Master and should be in stores soon.
