Ambrosia last appeared at Macworld New York of 1998, skipping an appearance at San Francisco earlier this year. This year, however, ended up being one of the biggest showings from the shareware-only company that has garnered loyal fans for almost a decade.
This year, Ambrosia teamed up with Kernel Software and Green Dragon creations to buy a 20x20 square foot booth located in the heart of the gaming pavilion. Says Jason Whong of Ambrosia,
"I think our three companies are playing together quite nicely. Our presentation is top-notch, and the crowds are seeing everything we have to offer. Sharing this space is better than having smaller booths, because we're in it together."
Indeed, it was a tremendous showing on the part of Ambrosia, as the company showed for the first time, footage of their upcoming game, Pop-Pop (by Andrew Campbell), as well as allowed fans to play selected segments of the upcoming and heavily anticipated Ferazel's Wand. The shareware giant also showed its latest releases including Slithereens, Mars Rising, Escape Velocity Override, and Harry the Handsome Executive.
Ambrosia also rented space elsewhere in Apple's exhibit to demonstrate Snapz Pro 2, the screen capturing utility which now supports Quicktime Movie capture (incidently, Snapz Pro 2 is the utility that our MacReactor reviewers use to capture game footage).
