 Last Call
Simon & Schuster announced today that they will be making Last Call for both Mac and PC on a hybrid CD. Last Call will be a bartending sim, in which you must serve up the drinks and keep the party rolling. But, don't let your customers get too drunk, or they might get rowdy!
Gilles Dana, senior vice president said that "Last Call continues our commitment to publishing humorous entertainment titles for the casual gamer market." The game will be developed by Cutler Creative and should be available in October for $19.95.
"Last Call" takes players to a hip, downtown New York bar where the booze is served as fast as the cheap pick-up lines. Being the bartender, players must learn how to mix over 70 drinks ranging from the typical rum and Coke®, to the more complex such as Harvey Wallbangers. While doing this, players must ID each patron (to make sure they’re of legal drinking age), charm the customers the right amount (flattery goes a long way), keep the customer from getting too drunk (watch their drunk meters!) and keep the music going (it’s a party after all). The goal is to earn the most tips as possible by the end of your shift. The only way to get a good tip is mixing a good drink and keeping the party going.
CHARACTERS
Earning tips won’t be an easy task as you serve the most vibrant barflies you’ve ever met. Some of the 24 characters you’ll encounter include:
Elan The Supermodel – She downs each drink in a gulp, then runs off-screen where you immediately hear her purging loudly.
Lydia the "Cosmo" girl – She lives and dies Cosmo – and is always quoting from it. "I’m not waiting, I’m doing Kegels. You can’t even tell I’m doing them, can you?"
Anton – Pure Eurotrash. He smokes constantly, has disdain for everything and always wants to dance, dance, dance. He starts out happy but as he gets drunk he gets frustrated by "American Women" and gets mean.
Vincent the Hedgehog – He’s a… hedgehog who’s always complaining. "Everything’s better in the woods man. But everybody I grew up with is do provincial, it’s all about food and shelter with them." Make a bad drink and he gets mad. "This brew’s bringin’ on my fight or flight reflex, man. Make it again before I go feral on your @ss."
